The future of farm support – tell us what you think

2021 marks the start of a transition for farmers away from direct payments towards a new system of farm support based on rewarding them for the provision of environmental services.

Strutt & Parker and the CLA have teamed up to gather the views of landowners and farmers on the future of farm support, through a future funding survey which should take 5-10 minutes to complete.

In particular, we are looking for your thoughts on the design and operation of the new Environmental Land Management (ELM) scheme and other environmental policies, which will feed into the CLA’s advocacy work.

It’s an opportunity to share your thoughts on how likely or unlikely you are to implement some of the environmental options likely to form part of ELMS when it becomes available.

The information will also be used in conjunction with Strutt & Parker in relation to the CLA’s Rural Powerhouse Week (23-26 Nov).

The week is a digital event where the big issues facing landowners will be discussed on different days.

The first day, 23 November, will examine what the future looks like as Basic Payment farm support payments are phased out and what farmers can do to prepare.

All responses you provide will be treated as confidential and anonymous in any results that either the CLA or Strutt & Parker publish.
